Transfers hit and misses of EPL 2008/2009 season

As we reach the end of the season, we all want to know whether the players for whom our dear clubs spend so many millions were actually worth it or not. This list is not divided into hits and misses of transfer window. This is just a list of high profile players, who are new members of EPl and review of their performance this season.

1. Deco

He is probably one of the best transfer made by any EPL club. This Brazilian born Portuguese football player started off his career with corinthians. With time he saw his way into porto, where he amazed everyone including jose mourinho with his skills and control over the ball. After winning European cup with porto in 2004, he joined Barca. Here he played along some established football giants like ronaldinho, eto'o and then emerging messi. he never lost his first team player status but when riijkard was sacked he also decided to leave the club and then joined his portugal coach's side Chelsea.
He has been amazing in the first half of the season. After scoring goals in his first two premier league matches, he was named player of the month in the month of august but after sacking of Scolari and few dissapointing performances, he has lost his place in chelsae team. According to me given few more games he can win his place back and please Chelsea don't sell him to juventus, there is lot in him which you haven't seen.

2. Robbie keane
A Tottenham hotspur starting striker, was one of the prime transfer target for reds since the start of teh transfer window. What red expected out of him was that he will score as many goals (infact some more) as he used to score for Spurs. What happened??? the most dissapointing transfer of the premier league. he was a total flop show and the form which was expected was just nowhere to be seen. He was not able to hold the fort, even when el nino was injured.
he was so bad that he was given a transfer in the january transfer window. Still i think that he was capable of being one of the good players in the club, if he was given the right amount of time and reds made a big blunder selling him too quickly. Well now he is back in spurs and helped them get back on their feet and rise in table. It looks like keane and spurs are two which go hand in hand.

3. Nasri
Pure talent and Arsenal made the right choice of bringing him into thier side. his versatality on the pitch has allowed him to play all over the park and he has been quite instrumental in many of the Arsenal's key victories. bought for just 16 million euros, he is a real bargain.

4. Berbatov
Another spure ex-frontman. No one will the oppurtunity to leave manu 's offer and he didn't he was good this season, and with tevez leaving the devil's camp we can expect to see more of berbatov in next seasona dn we are sure that he will shine.

5. Giovanni Dos santos
he was hailed as a 'wonderkid' when he was in barcelona but when he made his way into spurs camp he was hailed as ' a mistake'. One should not be too harsh on this youngsters, his only mistake was htat he joined and EPL team at such a young age. i think he should have established himself in barca (spanish league) and then only jumped the ships. He was good in the pre-season matches, he was not able to perform well in teh league with one goal and multiple days in the injury list he was not the transfer which spurs wanted him to be. Both He and spurs, should not loose hope as i m sure that this wonderkid will live up to his name.

6. Robinho
Good transfer and for a club like manchester city he is a great buy. No matter how manchester city is performing, you cannot ignore the pure class of robinho. he played well and he is undoubtedly one of the great buys.

7. ARSHAVIN

he was a prime transfer target since the euro cup. with teams like barca adn tottenham running for his signature, arsenal was the winner who snatchede him and bought him in the league. he has been instrumental in Arsenal run for i guess 4th place. He has played 11 premeir league matches and scored 6 goals and has assisted 8 times. out of these 4 goals were against liverpool in that legendary 4-4 draw. i am liverpool fan but still i will say Arshavin was great that day. you don't know how difficult it is to appraise your rival but he deserves it.

here Bosingwa also requires a special mention but i m too tire dof writing about everyone else but liverpool.

In the end i guess manchester united and Arenal were the one who were the most succesfull in this year's transfer window. Manu roping in players like berbatov, youngsters like TOSIC and Arsenal signing Nasria and Arshavin showed other teams how and what to puchase. you cannot question wenger and Alex's experience in the premier league they know how to make the right decisions in the transfer window.
